We are delighted to announce that €112 were raised by the kids so far. It is so great to see young persons being concerned about the welfare of cats and we are absolutely thrilled by your support! Well done to all!
We have received some lovely letters from them and want to share them her with you. Their words give us hope for the future of cats and should inspire many grown-ups!

We are still waiting for more returns and gifts will be sent out then.

Woohoo! You’ve made it to the finishing line! Well done!
Did you enjoy your weekend? It’s a great feeling to know that you have an excuse to read all weekend, that you are doing it for a good cause. As you know, this wasn’t about who reads the most, but about celebrating reading while helping cats.
It was our first read-a-thon and I guess people were a bit shy about it. It was kind of the unknown. So we would like to congratulate our 3 brave participants who took up the challenge (don’t forget to sponsor them to thank them for their effort – click on their names to do so): Pauline, Shauna and Hope. We know you did it to help the cats and we really appreciate your support. We will announce the best fundraiser, who will win a bunch of prizes) next weekend.
It is not because that this first edition was quiet that we will not have other read-a-thons. We’ll just say that this was a trial run. I can even tell you that the next edition will take place in January 2017 and we will keep you posted about it.
Now, tell us… How many books did you start this weekend? How many books did you finish? What was your favourite book? What was your favourite moment? Did you have fun?
“When I play with my cat, who knows if I am not more of a pastime to her than she is to me?” – Montaigne
The end is nearly there and you are still reading, are you? Of course, nobody can read 48 hours non-stop and you need to take a break or a nap every so often to mind your eyes and your body. And this is why we were here online posting some distraction for you.
Tell us, what did you do during the weekend to take a little break? How did you cope with unplanned interruptions?
Enjoy your last 2 hours of reading!
“Here you complain about your boring life, yet when a talking cat drops into your lap, you seek to silence it!” – Puss in Boots (by K.M. Shea)

Only 5 hours of reading left and, this afternoon, we would like to celebrate the children who took part in the Kids Edition of this read-a-thon and are about to finish their month of reading. We are really proud of the five children, aged 5 to 11, who decide to spend one month reading books and collecting money to help the cats. It gives you faith, doesn’t it. We will hear more from them next weekend, but we received a comment from one of our young readers last Thursday, which I’d like to share:
“best month ever and I’ve read a load of books. And I hit my collecting target too tonite.” Rachel
We will keep you updated on how they got on next weekend.
There is no age to read children books, and they are a good way to take a little break when doing a read-a-thon.
Tell us, do you ever read children books? What is your favourite children book of all time?
