Money Box Competition at The Cat Purrse – August 2018

For the month of August 2018, we are holding a money box competition to raise funds for TNR at The Cat Purrse. All proceeds will be split amongst our various local TNR funds to help with the neutering of stray and feral cats. It is a fun activity you can do with your kids while teaching them a very valuable lesson of kindness. You can view some ideas here, here and here.

To take part, follow those simple steps:

1- Make a money box. It can be as quirky as you wish. Use your imagination and creativity. Take a photo and email it to communitycatsnetwork@gmail.com. We will post it in a photo album on The Cat Purrse page.

2- Fill it up with your spare change (you can even throw in a few notes!).

3- Towards the middle of August, count the money in your box and lodge it to our bank account or send it via paypal (again, don’t forget to include your name so that we can match it with the money box you have submitted). Once we have received the funds, the photo of your money box will be validated for the competition.

All submissions and funds must be received by the 25th of August.
There will be 3 winners announced on the 31st of August: A- Best money box (public vote) B- Best money box (jury’s choice) C- Best fundraiser

The money box with the most likes on Facebook will win one of those 3 prizes

The money box that raises the most funds will win one of these prizes

The winner for the jury’s choice for best money box will win one of these prizes

Note that entries will only be validated once we have received the funds you have raised. If collection of the prize cannot be arranged locally (Midleton area), the postage will be at your own charge.

The Clonmel Carpark Cats

Over the past couple of months, these cats in a supermarket carpark have been brought to our attention by a lot of concerned people in Clonmel looking for help for them. We recently gained permission to proceed with a Trap-Neuter-Return project in the carpark and have made contact with some of the people feeding them. We’ve counted approximately 10 cats, some with injuries, but we expect some were hiding at time of assessment. To read the fully story and see the updates, click here.

We need help to raise funds to neuter & treat these cats. We appreciate any amount donated; big or small, it all helps!

You can donate on IDonate or by using Paypal. Thank you for your kindness and generosity!

Auction at AnyLittleThings

We recently put up an appeal to raise funds to help with TNR in the rural Mallow area. However, we have been struggling with raising funds while the enquiries have kept coming in. Thankfully, Anna from AnyLittleThings has once more come to the rescue and is holding an auction this weekend to help to raise funds so that we can help more people to neuter feral cats in that area.

Because very little neutering has been done in that area, colonies are quite large, sometimes reaching 20 cats (if not more) at this time of the year and carers simply cannot afford the full cost involved in neutering all these cats. Hopefully, by putting all our efforts together we will manage to raise enough to help more cats.

Please, take the time to check the auction at AnyLittleThings. It will kick off at 8pm today and end at 8pm on Tuesday. There will be some lovely pieces, so please bid at your heart’s content and help us to help them!

You can see photos from one of the project we recently carried out in the area (along with another 12 cats TNRed that week) here, and we are due to go back at the end of the month to carry out to more large TNR project.

Online Auction at The Cat Purrse – April 2018

This month at The Cat Purrse, we are having an auction to raise funds for TNR in East Cork. We have helped with some very large colonies already this year and no doubt there are more to come…

The auction will close on the 16th of April and more items will be added every day until then. There are many jewellery pieces, as well as crafts and art, but also toiletry sets, bags, toys, etc, so check it out and share with your friends!

Draw for hamper in Clonmel

We are having a raffle to win this lovely hamper in Southview Vets in Clonmel. Lines are €2 each and the draw will take place on the 26th of February. Please support by calling down and buying a line. All proceeds will go to neuter stray and feral cats in the town.

Unfortunately, without the support of the community for fundraising, we can only offer limited assistance and often have to turn down TNR projects if the carers cannot afford the discounted rate of neutering. Please, consider supporting this fundraiser, organising a fundraiser or donating to the South Tipp fund so that the great work started by our volunteer in Clonmel last year can continue.
